Double-Layer Energy Efficient Synchronous-Asynchronous Circuit-Switched NoC

A network-on-chip (NoC) offers high performance, flexibility and scalability in communication infrastructure within multi-core platforms. However, NoCs contribute significantly to the overall system’s power consumption. The double-layer energy efficient synchronous-asynchronous circuit-switched NoC (CS-NoC) is proposed enhance utilization. To reduce dynamic consumption, single-rail asynchronous protocols are utilized. two-phase four-phase encoding algorithms analyzed determine most technique. For data layer, two reduced consumption by 80%, with an increase latency when compared fully synchronous protocol. protocol had better performance 38%, same a slight area of 5%. Based on this conducted analysis, layer significant reduction yet operated at moderate frequency. Therefore, divided into transfer layers single control layer. designed using protocols. designated high-frequency loads, confined low-frequency loads. switching between creates trade-off maximum allowed frequency reduces 23% recent previous work. maintains system 8% over literature.
